Moomin Shop in Helsinki
Moomin troll is propably one of the best known cartoon charcters in the world. Originally created by Tove Jansson, this chubby creature teaches children about rights and wrongs of the world.
Since Moomin is from Finland, obviously the most extensive selection of Moomin-related products and sights can be found here.
The original Moomin world is located in city of Naantali and another one in Tampere. Visiting Helsinki, the best thing to get in the mood is to visit the official Moomin Shop downtown Helsinki. This shop is the only shop run by the Jansson family, the owners of the Moomin copyrights.
The Moomin Shop is located in Kämp Gallery, a small shopping mall just off the main shopping strip in Helsinki, Esplanadi. Just find Cafe Strindberg and get in to the mall on either side of this cafe.
In the shop you can find all kinds of Moomin memorabilia, from t-shirts and Iittala Teema mugs all the way to children's tableware, cell phone charms and Kalevala Koru jewelry. Not to forget the huggable figures and the cutest little rubber boots.
The staff at the shop are very friendly (Finnish hospitality), multilingual (some speak even Japanese!) and very helpful.
Just check out the rest from the pictures.

Hi, I am devoted to moomins in fact my children have been sort of been named after them. I found a web site that no longer exists that sold everything I have ever wanted. Towels, stationary, wooden silouettes, sheets, t shirts, posters, in fact everything (for grown ups)one could wish for. Where can I buy all these things? PLEASE help. Thankyou Thea

I absolutely love the Moomin stores in Finland, I had a look around the one at Helsinki airport and bought my diary there for this year - if I had more time and money I would've bought lots more! Looking forward to my next trip to Finland this summer, determined to fly home with a whole family of plushies on my lap!

I know it is hard to buy moomin online, it is too bad the moomin stores in Finland dont sell them online. They would make tons of money since there is so many moomin fans. I live here in USA, and always wait for my next trip to Finland so i can buy some more moomin.
If you are looking to buy some moomin books, plush toys etc check out EBay. They have from time to time a great collection of moomin. Good luck and enjoy the moomin. Sincerely, Christa.

Dear reader,
I have long been a fan of the 'Moomins' and have brought the 7 disk set of the fuzzy felt Moomins and the complete Tove Janesson.I love all my purchases but am wondering if there are any sites online that I can purchase soft toys, badges, postcards, or any other moomin memorabelia? I would greatly appreciate any info. I have made a thorough search of the internet and have managed to locate some Moomin cups and plates.
I think the 'Moomins' are adorable and like the strange characters that Tove has invented. Thank you so much for reading this and please keep the memory and charaters alive.
All the best,
Nargis.
( One moomin fan amongst many).
